1. The presentation of the tributes seems to be greatly focused on visual presentation and looks — what does this reveal about the belief systems of the Capitol?
2. Compare and contrast life in the Capitol to life in District 12.
In the capital people seem rich and important. In there district they just work and look for food. The people in the capital have luxuries
and technologies. In the district they don't even have warm water.
In the capital they have lot's of fruits, vegetables, bread, pastries,
sweets, and good meat but in the districts they eat dog and squirrel
meat, and bread is considered special.
3. What does Cinna ask Katniss and Peeta to do just before they ride out in their chariot? What is the purpose of this gesture?
Cinna told them to hold hands when on the chariots. This was to make them look like friends not rivals.
unlike the other the tributes. They don't even look at each other like
there already rivals. When they whereholding hands the crowd was
cheering for them.
QUOTES
1."Excellent! You almost look like a human being now! says Flavius, and they all laugh." (pg 62)
2. "I look up and find Cinna's trained on mine. How despicable we must seem to you" (pg 65)
3 " I want the audience to recognize you when your in the arena, says Cinna dreamily. Katniss the girl who was fire" (pg 67)
4 " The crowd's initial alarm at our apperance quickly changes to the cheer of District Twelve" (pg 78)
This reveals that the tributes should represent there districts. They should reflect what there districts make. They should look like what
common residents or workers look like where they live. They have
to have something that there district makes or do.
