The Hunger Games Chapter 2 Questions

1. How does Katniss save her sister from the reaping?
Katniss saves her sister by volunteering to take her
place. And since the capitol hadnt had a volenteer in
a while they couldnt disagree with it.

2. Who is the boy tribute selected? How did he save Katniss life when she was 11?
The boy tribute that was selected for the Hunger Games is Peeta Mellark. When Katniss was 11, Peeta
gave Katniss burned bread from the bakery. He purposely burned the bread knowing his mom woudn't
want to sell it and knowing he would be punished. But that bread saved Katniss and her family from dying

 of starvation.

3. What kind of person do you think Peeta is? What evidence from the book led you to come to this conclusion?
I think Peeta Mellark is a very kind person. He is very caring and nice. I know Peeta is a nice person
because he cared enough to give Katniss bread knowing he was
going to be punished.

4. Why does seeing the dandelion after her father's death give Katniss hope?
The dandelion gives Katniss hope because it reminds her of the times her and her father would be in the
woods, she knew how they were going to survive.
