The Hunger Games CH 10 Questions

1. Why does Peeta reveal his love for Katniss? Do you think he really loves her? Why or why not?
He admitted it so he could become more popular with the people watching. Then to get more sponsors for himself to. Maybe to bring Katniss up a little to. But I don't think he is telling the truth and  Haymitch told him to say something like that.

2. What is Peeta’s main concern during the hunger games?
He doesn't want to die. But die like someone else not like himself.

3. How does the Capitol view the previous arenas of the hunger games? How many games have there been?
They view them as historic sites. They have them for people on vacation to see them. They let you see the spots were tributes died. They even let reenact the battles. There has been 74 Hunger Games.
4. What do you feel is the purpose of the hunger games?
I think it is a source of entertainment for the capital people. It is also to show the districts there in power. To show they could do nothing to stop them. To show supreme power and had everything they want with the reward they give to the winner.

The Hunger Games CH 9

1. Describe Katniss’ interview attire and training? What affect do you think it had on the audience?

 Katniss was dressed in dress with shiny objects. Her nails were painted with flames and had high heels. The training helped her so she could get used to the heels. Then in the interview the advice Cinna gave her helped her with answering questing.
 
2. How does Haymitch and Cinna ask Katniss to behave?
 
Haymitch told her to act hostile like she is. Then later to lie and compliment the capital. Then Cinna told her to act like herself. When she doubted that, Cinna told her she was lovable. 
 
3. What do we discover about Peeta during his interview?
 
 We discovered Peeta loves Katniss

2. How did Katniss and Gale meet? Describe their story.
 
 She said one time when she was hunting she found a snare with a squirrel in it. When she was looking at it Gale came up and said not to steal it. They started joking  around and started becoming friends .Then said if you teach me how to make snares I'll teach you to shoot a bow and arrow. Then they started hunting with each other and said they promised to keep each other family alive.

1. What do the scores in the trainings mean to the tributes? What scores do Peeta and Katniss receive?
 
 The scores the tributes get are from when game makers are watching them and score there ability. They give them from a one to a twelve. Depending on there numbers they get sponsors that give them stuff. But the scores aren't  always right . When the scores came up Katniss an 11 and Peeta 8.

The Hunger Games Chapter 6 Questions


2. What prevents tributes from jumping off the roof? Why do you think this is in place?
1. What is an Avox? How does Katniss know the Avox?

They might figure out the things they are good at. Or figure out
what there weaknesses are.. But if they train together  They can
help each other with strategies. Or make a plan to kill the other
tributes faster.


He said his father loved the squirrels she brings him because she doesn't pierce the body.He says hopes he like how he shoots it in the
eye. He says she can even bring down a deer.   

3. What reasons would Peeta have for being curious about Gale?
 Career tributes are the tributes who actually train  there whole life for the hunger games. There a threat
because they already know how to kill now. They now how to
defend themselves. Know how  to handle
deadly weapons. And could already be in good shape.

The Hunger Games Chapter 5 Questions

1. The presentation of the tributes seems to be greatly focused on visual presentation and looks — what does this reveal about the belief systems of the Capitol?

2. Compare and contrast life in the Capitol to life in District 12. 

In the capital people seem rich and important. In there district they just work and look for food. The people in the capital have luxuries
and technologies. In the district they don't even have warm water.
In the capital they have lot's of fruits, vegetables, bread, pastries,
sweets, and good meat but in the districts they eat dog and squirrel
meat, and bread is considered special.






3. What does Cinna ask Katniss and Peeta to do just before they ride out in their chariot? What is the purpose of this gesture?


 Cinna told them to hold hands when on the chariots. This was to make them look like friends not rivals.
unlike the other the tributes. They don't even look at each other like
there already rivals. When they whereholding hands the crowd was
cheering for them.


     QUOTES

 2. "I look up and find Cinna's trained on mine. How despicable we must seem to you" (pg 65)

 This reveals that the tributes should represent there districts. They should reflect what there districts make. They should look like what
common residents or workers look like where they live. They have
to have something that there district makes or do.

The Hunger Games Chapter 4 Questions



1. Do you think Haymitch will be helpful as a mentor? Why or why not?

I partly don't think he will be a good mentor because most of the time he is drunk and he just hit Peeta because he got mad at him.But he might be a good one because he has already gone through the games, and made it out alive.


2. What does Katniss mean when she says: “A Kind Peeta Mellark is far more dangerous to me than an unkind one”?

I think she means that kind people mess with her more .She might fall for their lies easily.Its a problem because if he is acting nicewith her, it will be harder
for her to kill him. If it was an unkind person she wouldn't have that
much of a problem.


3. What happens to convince Haymitch that Peeta and Katniss might be fighters?
Peeta drops Haymitch’s glass on the floor and Haymitch
unches Peeta in the jaw. Then Katniss drives her knife
between Haymitch’s hand and the bottle he was about to pick
up. That is when Haymitch actually considers if those two
might be fighters.


4. What is the first honest advice that Haymitch gives them?

Haymitch tells Katniss and Peeta to let their stylist do
what-ever they wanted to them without them two protesting.

The Hunger Games Chapter 3 questions

1. Who comes to say goodbye to Katniss? List.

2. What does Madge give Katniss as a gift? What significance does it have?

    Madge gave Katniss a golden pin. It is a small bird in a flight. After taking a good look at it,Katniss realizes it is a mockingjay with
a ring around it.

3. What instructions does Katniss leave for her mother?

  Katniss tells her mom to protect and take care of
Prim. She tells her to not leave again. She doesn't
 want her mom to forget about Prim just like she did
when her dad died.

4. What act of kindness does Peeta’s dad show to Katniss? How do you think this man might of influenced his son?
   Peeta's dad went to visit Katniss before she left. He brought her cookies. I think that Peeta leaned from his dad to care and be kind with other people and not be cruel like his mother

5. What advice does Gale give Katniss about surviving the games?
    Gale told Katniss that she needs to get a hold on a bow or even make one. He also told her that the games were just like hunting.
